About vatsa spiaggia
Vatsa Spiaggia is a family business that opened in 1997 and is owned and run by Evropi Antonellou.
With the new generation on lead, Vatsa Spiaggia has taken a new turn and is now considered one of the best restaurants in Kefalonia.
The gorgeous Vatsa Bay is a unique spot where the river meets the sea. Our restaurant is situated virtually on the beach, offering a cousine which respects local produce and traditional recipes. Our executive Chef, George Antonellos selects only the best quality local seafood and vegetables grown in our own property, offering our customers his take on Cephalonian cuisine.

Apart from its beauty, Vatsa Bay is a historical spot which lies on the southern tip of Pali, Kefalonia’s beautiful and unspoilt western peninsula. The land surrounding Vatsa Spiaggia has been owned by the Antonellos' family for over 300 years and hosts a settlement dating back to 3,000 B.C. Decades before Spiros Antonellos opened the restaurant, his father, Nikolaos, discovered in 1934 the remains of an ancient temple, the ‘Temple of Poseidon' on the land. There, he found a beautifully preserved ancient dolphin mosaic which can now be viewed in the Archaeological Museum in Argostoli. The logo of Vatsa Spiaggia has borrowed the design of this mosaic, respecting the tradition and historical importance of the area.
At our property one can also find the small chapel of Saint Nikolaos, which is open to visitors and stands close to the spot where the ancient remains of the Temple can be found.
The chapel can be used for private events which we would be happy to host. Read more about them here.
